The Crime Prevention Website

A couple of days ago I mentioned that something was going down in South London, because the Home Security Survey application on this website was being used so much that I was having to set up extra fans to blow hard over the server to keep it from melting.

Well, the mystery seems to have been solved!

It turns out that I have East Dulwich Councillor James Barber to thank – so thank you James!

A little while before this sudden rush to security enlightenment he tweeted that he had been impressed by the survey and recommended others to use it. He also mentioned it again on the East Dulwich Forum in response to someone who had unfortunately been burgled. After that the surveys kept being done and, in fact, are still being done some three days later.

150 surveys have been completed so far and I do hope that each one of you have found the exercise useful.

It just goes to show that it only took one influential person to say something good about the survey for all these people to take advantage.

Looking over some of the scores I can see that the people of East Dulwich have a fair amount of DIY to do over the coming months, but hey, the weather’s getting better and a bank holiday looms.

Thanks again James.

If you would like to emulate the good people of East Dulwich then you might want to take the Home Security Survey yourself. It’s free, anonymous and confidential and you’ll be sent a report highlighting all the things you need to do to make your home safe.
