Currently we are the only accredited and approved lighting consultancy under the Secured by Design (SBD) organisation and we work closely with them on lighting guidance for their publications.  We have also presented at their technical conference in 2013 and continue to support them on many levels.

In 2014 we have become one of only three consultancies in the UK to be on the RIBA "list" and are one of the only consultancies in the UK to have specific bat training which assists us in our work surrounding ecology.  

We are a finalist in two categories at the 2014 Lighting Design Awards and have contributed frequently to industry publications and guidance. In 2014 we have undertaken to complete scientific research to establish the effects of Circadian lighting on health and well-being.  This will support further trials to improve the lives of the elderly and those with Alzheimers.  We are also hoping to prove that circadian lighting may help in Prisons where it may improve mood and behaviour.

We produce designs for all areas of lighting including street, interior and architectural.  We have a significant understanding of lighting to support crime reduction initiatives and for community safety.

To ensure your designs meet SBD requirements and compliance with relevant British and European standards you need to use a designer who is level 3 or 4 qualified under the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) competency framework.  "it does" has achieved level 4 compliance, the highest achievable, and this ensures that we cover your CDM designer requirements and project risk.
