The Crime Prevention Website

Sutton’s car parks have received a top award for the way they are managed to discourage crime and be safe places to use.

The award from the British Parking Association marks the tenth successive year that car parks run by the Council’s parking services team have attained the ‘Park Mark’ safer parking accreditation.

Annual assessments are based on a Park Mark assessor working with the Met Police to ensure high standards to reduce crime and the fear of crime as well as meet customers’ safety expectations.

The ‘Park Mark’ logo has become a recognised brand in 5,000 car parks around the country.

Councillor Kevin Burke, who is the lead member for parking services, said: “We are delighted with this award and are working constantly to improve our car parks for the benefit of all the drivers and passengers that use them.”

TCPW Comment I don’t know how many of you think about where you’re going to park when you travel to a new town or city in the UK, but by clicking on the link below and searching with a postcode, street name or town you’ll be told where the best managed and secure car parks are located.

TCPW is a big supporter of the Park Mark Safer Parking scheme, which is why we carry their logo at the bottom of our website pages. Park Mark car parks are assessed to ensure the security arrangements and the overall management of the facility is of high quality, so that you can park your car and wonder around the car park safely

I always use one when available.
