Cumbria Police are inviting people to Wigton to get their bike marked and registered, to help protect against theft.

The event will take place on Thursday 28th August between 2pm and 4pm at the Local Links building, Water Street car park, Wigton.

PCSO Kerry Harris said: “We’re asking people to come along and protect their bike. Anyone with a bike, even if you are just visiting the area, should come along and get it marked. We will be on hand to explain the process and provide advice on how to mark and register your bike.

“This is not just aimed at residents in Wigton but anyone who maybe in the area who wants to take the opportunity.

“Bikes can be worth a lot of money these days, and bike marking makes it easier for any stolen bikes to be returned to their rightful owner.”
