The Crime Prevention Website

If there’s one thing I’ve discovered writing for this crime prevention website it’s that you can never tell what news item will prove to be popular.  I can put a lot of effort into producing some of them and sometimes I pat myself on the back for a job well done only to find that the story hasn’t attracted the interest I thought it would.

And then, just like the Spanish Inquisition, the unexpected happens and a story I put together with the minimal amount of effort just keeps running and running.

The story in question is entitled Could this burglary have been prevented? and was published on 10 June.  It briefly examines a newspaper report into the effect of a burglary on one particular family and I simply made the point that this is one burglary that could have been prevented had the victims considered their security much sooner.

It’s had no likes or comments and yet it’s been read at least three or four times a day since 10 June!

If anyone can tell me why this has happened then please let me know and I will try and write more like it!
