The Crime Prevention Website

Recently I received a message from former colleague, Mick Keyte, Director at Detect Deter Defend Ltd (DDD) concerning a planned proposal for a #TruckCrime week in September.  The proposal has been put together through a collaboration of organisations including DDD, 4Policing and Andrew N Round Associates.

The objectives for the proposal which has been submitted to a range of key stakeholders engaged in freight crime prevention are to:

  • Raise Awareness of the level of crime afflicting the freight industry and in particular crimes against haulage contractors
  • Demonstrate and Highlight activities being undertaken against such crimes
  • Raise Awareness of crime prevention measures and initiatives
  • Promote the work of agencies and collaborative partnerships within the UK
  • Seek Political Support to maintain and develop interest and investment in the prevention and detection of such crimes
  • Identify Future Pathways for collaboration between law enforcement and industry

This proposal would allow these organisations to use their many years of policing experience and crime prevention know-how to support stakeholders working together to reduce opportunities for crime to take place, and to highlight the risk and threats to government and the industry.

The group is currently sharing their thinking and how they can use their expertise to work with law enforcement and industry to help prevent Truck Crime and to help to build a much more aligned approach to tackling it.

If you would like more information on this approach or wish to consider becoming an active supporter, they would be very pleased to discuss with you and answer any questions or provide further information.
