The Crime Prevention Website

About three weeks ago I had the pleasure of helping out a local neighbourhood police team in Hounslow by attending and speaking at a crime prevention meeting they had arranged.

I was there to give the key speech (to about 50 people), which focussed on the history of crime prevention and the police in the first part and then common domestic security weaknesses in the second part; using the findings I have gathered from all those completed Home Security Surveys.

My talk went down pretty well and I had lots of people coming up to me at the end of the event to ask me questions.

Various security companies were also on hand to advise the public and I thought the event was very well organised.

The reason I’m mentioning this is to let you know that if your neighbourhood watch group is within 10 or so miles from Hayes in Middlesex (or you’re a police officer who’s organising a similar event) I would be more than happy to come along to your event (for free) to give my presentation. Don’t forget that I am completely independent from the security industry and my advice is always impartial.

That trip to Hounslow was very much a trip down memory lane. Back in the day that presentation would have been given by Hounslow’s Crime Prevention Officer, a post that has disappeared from the Met due to budget cutbacks.
