The Crime Prevention Website

Ben and I know our website isn’t in the big league, but hitting 1,000,000 visits during the early hours of this morning has certainly put a big smile on both of our faces!  It’s taken us exactly three-and-a-half years to reach this milestone and we just want to say a huge thank you to all our supporters and promoters for helping us make this happen!

Numbers are pretty much everything when you run a website like this one, because the numbers let you know if what you’ve been trying to achieve is hitting the spot.  Obviously it would have been very nice to have had more police services linking to the site – and more Neighbourhood Watches – but we’re extremely grateful to those who have.

Our supporters know that we launched the site to help the police service at a very difficult time; it was designed to provide a little extra help to victims of crime and to provide guidance to help prevent the crimes in the first place. Judging by the many emails we receive it is clear that we’re achieving those goals, but there is more to be done.

Crime doesn’t just ‘happen’; there’s got to be an opportunity to commit it and the overriding message from the Crime Prevention Website is that all of us can take steps, sometimes simple ones, to ensure that those opportunities are removed.

We sincerely hope that those of you who regularly use our site (and maybe link to it) will want to continue to work with us to make it even better and don’t forget that we are always very happy to receive your written contributions to improve and add to our advice. Such contributions are always assigned to the contributor.

The Crime Prevention Website is going to be around for many years to come and you won’t be surprised to learn that Ben and I have some interesting plans for its development. It just takes time!

Don’t get anxious – get advice – from The Crime Prevention Website!
