The Crime Prevention Website

I’m really pleased to let you know that we’re now linked up with two more Neighbourhood Watch websites in Lancashire. These links follow on from the link we made with Lancashire Constabulary earlier this year who now promote TCPW as part of their ongoing anti-burglary initiative.

The Preston Neighbourhood Watch Association was formed on April 17 2004 to help support all the Neighbourhood Watch groups in the area. They set the following aims and objectives at their inaugural meeting and they have kept to them:

  • Supporting local Watches to reduce crime and disorder in the city of Preston
  • Encouraging local Watches to engage with local communities to help regenerate their neighbourhoods by sharing good practice
  • Supporting local Watches to reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality of life for all residents and visitors to the city of Preston
  • Working in partnership with other organisations including Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire and Rescue and LNWF to reduce crime and disorder within the city of Preston
  • Promoting crime prevention measures and techniques across the communities of Preston to make the city a safer place to live and work
  • Ensuring all local Watches are kept informed of information and data on all aspects of crime prevention in order to reduce the numbers of crime victims

We hope that this new link with TCPW will help the Association continue to achieve their aims and objectives.

The Lancashire Combined Watch Forum is somewhat unique in Watch terms since it describes itself as an independent mediating co-operative academy primarily formed for promoting the work of all watch co-ordinators, their schemes and associations whether they be Neighbourhood Watches, Business Watches, Rural Watches, Horse Watches or any other type of Watch organisation.

There’s useful information and news items on both these websites, so if you live in the County I reckon you should pay them a visit.

At the beginning of this year TCPW was only linked up with one organisation in Lancashire – Croston Bank Neighbourhood Watch. Now it’s four, which is excellent news!
