Essex Police are today promoting theirs and Kent Police’s new Fraud Prevention Guide on their home page entitled ‘ Fraud isn’t just a scam it’s a crime’.
Their guide gives advice about Bogus Callers, Rogue Traders, Business Crime, Internet Crime and Identity Theft and a PDF version of their guide can be downloaded from this link
They make the point that sometimes people choose not to report fraud or seek advice because they are embarrassed. Please don’t feel like that, because the more people who report a fraud the more information about the suspects can be gathered. With time this will lead to the perpetrators being caught, which will ultimately prevent other people from being targeted.
Fraudsters are constantly reinventing themselves to find new ways of tricking people and anyone can be a victim.
