Force science or pseudo-science?

Thanks to Gary Cordner of Modern Policing for bringing my attention to this very interesting story in the New York Times. The article profiles the work of William Lewinski of the Force Science Institute, whose training and expert testimony over the last 20 years have had a major impact on judicial decisions related to police shootings in the USA. His work is very popular among police officers, but legal and academic experts increasingly question the validity of his research and testimony.
