The Crime Prevention Website

As we reach the last day of June and complete the first half of 2015 I am pleased to report that visits to this website have continued to increase.  With about 38,000 visits this month we’re up 19.4% on June last year. I remember thinking that last June was a busy month, so an extra 6,000+ visits this time round is great news!

We know how our visitors find our site because we ask some of them that very question in our home security survey. Here’s what they’ve said:

So, Ben and I have a few ‘thank yous’ to say, because as you can see from the table a large proportion of our visitors (47%) come to us on recommendation from the police, a local neighbourhood watch or one of our many partnering websites.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that we get barely any referrals from Crimestoppers, Victim Support and Age UK, organisations who I thought (naively as it turns out) would jump at the chance to link up with us.  I have written to them and other similar charities, such as Ourwatch, the official national neighbourhood watch organisation, but we’ve been turned down. This was clearly disappointing, but in spite of this people are still finding us in increasing numbers.

Should you work for Crimestoppers, Victim Support, Age UK etc and think you can help organise a link we would still very much like to hear from you.

In the meantime thank you very much to our supporters; your help is hugely appreciated!

PS  Just started working on the next Newsletter out in about two week’s time.
