The Crime Prevention Website

I was already aware of the global scene of drug decriminalisation and so it comes as no surprise to read in the linked article below that 20 US States now allow marijuana for medical use and four allow its recreational use, with California about to join the list.  It makes you wonder (especially since police budgets are to be cut again whoever gets in) if the UK might one day follow the other 20 or so countries round the world that have gone down the first paths of decriminalisation of cannabis.  Maybe we’re just hanging on to see how things pan out in those other countries first.

If you’re interested in the subject it might be worth taking a look at this short article in the Telegraph online today by Ian Birrell.  Also, for a reasonably up-to-date list of countries that have decriminalised personal and medicinal use and cultivation, take a look at this Wiki link.  You might be surprised.

I shall watch the developments with interest.
