Some of you will know that Thames Valley Police (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire) have been supporters of The Crime Prevention Website since it was launched three years ago and regularly promote the Home Security Survey. I know this not only because of the contacts I have in the force, but also because of the statistics I collect.
But there’s something strange going on!
The counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire are always in the top ten for numbers of home security surveys conducted per county and I have no less than eight links in place with neighbourhood watch and community websites in the two counties. Oxfordshire on the other hand is almost completely absent from the list and we have no links in place with any of their neighbourhood watches or community sites.
Why is this, I ask myself. The answer is that I simply don’t know.
