The Crime Prevention Website

As my regular visitors will know I now regularly publish a list of the top ten counties whose residents have completed the most Home Security Surveys.

So far this quarter (January to March) this is how things stand:

  1. London
  2. Berkshire
  3. Buckinghamshire
  4. Essex
  5. West Yorkshire
  6. West Midlands
  7. Cheshire
  8. Glamorgan
  9. Hampshire
  10. Kent

It’s no real surprise to see London maintaining its No 1 position since it’s such a populous place, but Berkshire and Buckinghamshire continue to hold the next two top spots probably due to the long term support I’ve received from Thames Valley Police. The same can be said about Essex, West Yorkshire and Hampshire whose police services all link in some way to TCPW.

It’s great to see Glamorgan in the list as up until fairly recently this website received very few visitors from Wales.  Unfortunately none of the Welsh police forces link to The Crime Prevention Website, but that is more than made up for by the many police officers and PCSOs who follow us on Twitter, Facebook and take our Newsletter.

Lots of police services prefer not to link to a website like ours, because it carries advertisements, which is something I find quite interesting since some police services have deliberately altered their policies to enable them to do so.

Obviously it would be really good if other police forces linked up, but as the ones that do only generate about 3% of our visitor traffic it’s not the end of the world.

The important thing for me is that the site is being found and with last month (February 2015) breaking all previous records for daily visitor traffic this important thing is most definitely happening!

Thank you for your continued support. You know who you are!
