The Crime Prevention Website

This is just to let you know that I have started to put together a whole new section for this website to help business owners with their building security.

In the main tab ‘Other Crime Prevention’ you’ll now see a new heading entitled ‘Commercial Premises and Security’ and below that you’ll see ‘Boundary fences, walls and gates’, which is the first sub-section I’ve written.  This will be followed by the further sub-sections listed below and I hope to get it all done by the end of March 2015.

I’ve had quite a few enquiries come in from business people, their security managers and police officers since I launched this website and so I hope this additional information will be of use.

I’ll be publishing advice under the following headings and if there’s something I’ve missed I’m sure my visitors will let me know.  This is exactly what I want them to do, of course, because this website is a community open resource and its advice has got to be correct and up-to-date.

Look out for the following:

  • Car parks, yards and outbuildings
  • External lighting
  • The building shell, including doors, windows and shutters
  • General office security, including reception area and internal lighting
  • CCTV
  • Alarms
  • Access control
  • Staff security
