The Crime Prevention Website

It was a pleasant surprise to discover that Westminster Neighbourhood Watch Association (WNWA) has popped our site onto their links page recently. I've just linked back to them.

I didn’t know this, but apparently the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has stipulated that each London Borough needs a Neighbourhood Watch Association in place. It allows Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators to work with the council and police to support and improve NHW across Westminster.

WNWA represents and supports all Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the Borough of Westminster, which currently numbers over one hundred!

Their objectives are quite clear:

  • To support and assist Westminster Neighbourhood Watches in their role of reducing crime and improving the quality of life for those who live and work within the borough.
  • To act as a forum for sharing information, experiences and ideas, and spreading best practice among the local Neighbourhood Watches.
  • To raise awareness of Neighbourhood Watch.
  • To act as a collective mouthpiece for Westminster Neighbourhood Watch groups and a channel of communication with Westminster Council and the Met Police.

All makes sense to me and good luck in their endeavours!
